Real-izing Your Potential ...

Satori

a Japanese word
consisting of the characters for
'mind' and 'myself.'

It's real easy to throw too many English words at this. To get your definition, contemplate what happens when there is a union of mind and body -- non-physical & physical.

In ten words or less, satori, to me, means "revelationary insight." It is the 'I get it. !!!!!' It is the 'brick flying through the air,' the 'HEEELLLLOOOO!,'

the sudden awakening.

This comes from living completely and totally in the moment -- and, by the way, the moment is without end. It incorporates every aspect of your being and your life -- and that extends beyond your body and it's existence. Through mindful awareness and non-doing as well as devoting oneself completely to the task at hand, satori can be reached. These 'actions' allow for the harmony and union of mind and body that leads to the all-knowing.

In terms of Centered Riding®, the first of the two basics, soft eyes and deep, regular breathing, allow a person to come into the present with complete awareness. (Granted, the complete awareness may take some time, as this is not a habitual way for Americans to go about life! We start out with 'little' awarenesses.) With each awareness, satori happens. It becomes "obvious" what the next action is -- which is part of the concept of non-doing. The action seems to happen of its own accord. Along with this comes a sense of harmony and contentment that all is as it should be in the world -- which is another way of thinking of satori.

Centered Riding® provides, among many other things, an avenue for finding satori..
