Terms

* There are 13 weeks of riding in the semester and the packages are set up to cover 12 weeks so that the packages do not have to be purchased without a trial lesson week.

** Pricing of Packages and SU Group Riding Lessons is calculated on the ability of SU club to offset the regular prices of lessons and due to the limitations of the budge; these prices are available on a first come first served basis.

*** Working Student positions apply towards the 2nd lesson of the week.

Information:

Riding Lessons at Satori Stables consist of Groundwork and Riding. Groundwork provides the foundation for the Riding lessons. Topics are always introduced first on the ground and then transferred to the horse's back.

~

If you can make it to the group Mastery sessions where the Groundwork is covered in a group, your riding skills will increase quicker. The information will be more thorough in the Group session, although perhaps less individually tailored.

~

If you cannot make the group Groundwork sessions, you will receive tailored Groundwork information during your riding lesson time.  The amount of time on the horse will be decreased accordingly.

~

Almost all lessons will have some Groundwork, usually 15 minutes or so. Occasionally, a full private Riding lesson will be devoted to individual Groundwork.

~

Pre-paid packages are purchased at the beginning of the semester. The sessions are scheduled at that time on a first come first serve basis.

~

If you've bought a package with SU group lessons in it, you can trade out 2 SU group lessons for 1 private lesson if you miss an SU group lesson or if you schedule this in advance.

~

Rescheduling can be done with 48 hours notice, availability permitting, but cannot be carried over to the next semester or next 4 week period.

~

If there are days available after the package has run out, add-on lessons can be purchased al la carte at the discounted price.  the SU pricing will apply if the SU budget allows it.

~

Practice sessions are available to qualifying advanced students who:
can walk, trot, stop, and steer utilizing Centered Riding techniques,
agree to practice only what's already been covered in lessons

~

Bonus Activities consist of:
group Practice sessions and/or
Cross Country jumping and/or
Hacking about

~

Students are required to utilize the Centered Riding techniques while riding the Satori Stab
