The Chakras in Riding ~

A series of 4 sessions for balancing the Ajna, the Heart, and the Hara specifically, and uniting the system as a whole.

What will you get from these sessions?

The end goal is that your riding gets better -- you're more comfortable, your horse is more comfortable, and you're both able to work better with each other and do what you want to do. We're talking about better balance, better coordination, better results.

In the workshops you'll learn what chakras are, how they function in every day life, and how they can help you out in riding. Just like a balanced body makes riding a lot easier, a balanced Ajna makes riding a lot easier, too! (In fact, a balanced Ajna lets you know if you've got a balanced body...) You'll also find out how your chakras are doing right now and then through the session we'll balance whatever could use it and provide ways you can continue to balance the chakras afterwards.

And all from the comfort of a chair!

What do the sessions comprise of?

The 1st Session, balancing the Ajna

better peripheral vision, allowing for perfect halts at X,
increased awareness, leading to increased ability to adapt and correct automatically,
greater ability to look ahead and predict more accurately the outcomes of your actions,
an ability to move into the relaxation response and 'resonate' with the horse more,
an ability to move out of fight flight and enjoy greater 'soft strength'
provides focus, decreases ADD/ADHD startle type inattention

The 2nd Session, balancing the Heart

greater compassion for yourself and others
softer hands and greater feel
softer lower back and ability to follow with the seat better
better posture ~ disruption of habitual Landau reflex and startle reflex
less drama filled relationships with horses and people!
provides reassurance, decreases herd bound/terror type inattention

The 3rd Session, balancing the Hara

better steering and response to aids
better boundaries in relationships
assertion - as opposed to aggression or doormat
legs that drape, heels that drop down
provides leadership, decreases debates about who's leading and who's following.

The 4th Session, uniting the system as a whole

fluidity in movement
engagement of deep inner muscles and lengthening of the spine (for both you and your horse when you ride it!)
greater loft in movement
greater security in the saddle (and in life.)
preparation for whatever's coming next.

Who are these sessions for?

These sessions are for anyone who's looking for ways to improve their riding, anyone who wishes to take riding beyond the physical,  or  anyone who enjoys exploring other ways to learn.

Not only will these four sessions help with riding, you may be pleasantly surprised to find they have a great benefit to other areas of your life.

What's the track record with this?

Balancing the Ajna, Heart, and Hara has comprised the foundation of my teaching for the last 20 years.  In riding lessons, this is accomplished primarily through visualizations or kinesthetic awareness and Centered Riding® techniques.  The techniques which will be used in these sessions were added in about 13 years ago and have made it even easier for students to achieve balance in their chakras and on their horses and in their lives.

What some folks have said about their riding experience:

" It's like I've done an hour of yoga! "  - M. B.
"For the first time I feel my legs draping...." - T. D.
"I now have an entirely new relationship with my hips!" - C. M.
"I like it because it's slow and unhurried and I can figure things out." - L. S.
"Finally, someone is exlpaining to me how to ride!" - from many people!

You can see more testimonials online at Satori Post   While Centered Riding® is not about chakras, it provides a useful framework and I maintain current standing with  Centered Riding® Inc. as a Level III Clinician and Instructor.  I have also attended all of the USDF Educational classes, sometimes as rider sometimes as teacher, and am familiar with classical methods of training.

It would be great to have you participate!

Classes will be Saturday afternoons, 1pm-3pm, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7, 3/28 via tele-conference or at Satori Stables for $80 for the series.  Call 512.869.7903 or email lynn@satori.com  to sign up.

See you soon!
