Medications & Supplements for the Horse
I love this book. I can understand what the vet is saying and I can figure
out what labels are telling me. Also, when the latest thing starts circulating
around the horse world, I can look that up, too.
This includes not only traditional stuff but herbal as well, and approaches both
in a non-biased way.

Karen E.N.Hayes, D.V.M., M.S.
When I became interested in breeding, I am glad I found this book.
I appreciated her no-nonsense, straight forward, and caring approach to her
subjects and her subject matter.
It took me a little while to get straight the various phases; it seems like
they run into each other a bit. It was, however, worth the effort to figure
it out. Somehow, getting everything in it's 'right place' took the edge off
of the fear from not knowing what to expect.
Also, while the knowledge of everything that could go wrong was somewhat
horrifying, having a plan of action was comforting. It was also comforting
to know that several problems with presentation could be remedied with the
APPROPRIATE action -- although I have never had to do this first hand, and
some level headed thinking. Knowing the APPROPRIATE action can prevent a
situation from turning out horribly.
The biggest thing I learned from this book was "be prepared."
