The thought Bert Hellinger had is that 80% of our personal problems
have a systemic cause -- we belong to a family system consisting of our biological
ancestors and, even if we are separated physically at birth, we still
have strong and invisible ties to our family system.
For myself, having spent a lot of time 'getting away from' my family,
this was a bit of a show stopper. Yet looking into it and utilizing
the Resonance Repatterning® sessions conceived by Carin Block,
I have experienced great peace and satisfaction in my life and my
relationships.
It is
possible to look at the ties to family system -- the Family
Constellation, and restore order to the system. The implication: 80%
of our personal problems could benefit from this.
Our connection to the family system is through
love. When the same love that unconsciously ties us to
non-coherent patterns of the system becomes conscious, it
becomes a force that leads us towards healing and re-establishing
the flow of love in our lives.

Bert
Hellinger, a former Jesuit priest from Germany who studied philosophy,
theology and pedagogy, is credited with developing Family Constellation
work. It is a form of psychotherapy developed by American
psychiatrists Murray Bowen and Virginia Satir.
A
family system is comprised of the genetically linked persons of the last
3 generations and all of their respective partners.
The basis of this work is that a family system behaves on an
invisible level - as if it were guided by an invisible force, of which
usually none of its members are aware.
The idea is similar to a school of fish or a form of birds moving
together as if guided by a connecting force. The operating force behind
this is a deep 'archaic' love and loyalty that operates unconsciously in
each family and that seeks to bring justice and balance into the system.
